Installation of the fabric facade achieved considerable reduction in energy usage owing to reduction of air conditioning system running time as well as creating a visual impact and the solar protection of the glazed area.

Taronga Zoo

The triangulated overlapping forms of the fabric, contribute to the audience experiencing a sense of engagement with the pool activities.  The Shade Sails create light and shade patterns of visual interest throughout the day and also provide and unmistakable form visible from some distance to mark the location.  The sails provide shade to the Zoo's Seals, Penguins and the Australian Marine Mammal Research Centre.
